STIRLINGSHIRE

NEW BUILD HOME

A contemporary home rooted in the site’s heritage

The brief

Our clients had the opportunity to build their own home in a rural pocket of Stirlingshire.

The site presented a challenge: securing planning consent on land with a rich industrial history as an old brickworks.

The ambition was to create a spacious, modern four-bedroom home that would feel both remarkable and at home within its landscape.

Our response

The design balances contemporary family living with the practical demands of a rural home. A generous open-plan kitchen, dining and living area encourages connection and flexibility, while smaller, purposeful spaces - a snug with a wood-burning stove and practical mudrooms - support everyday life.

Brick, a material with deep local resonance, was reinterpreted in a contemporary way. The carefully considered brickwork not only nods to the site’s heritage but also anchors the home within its surroundings, creating a residence that feels both unique and timeless.
